The short version

  • Deleting your account removes everything keyed to you, including the sign-in identity. It cannot be undone.
  • You can do it yourself in the app in under a minute, and you do not need to ask us.
  • If you cannot install or sign in, email us and we will do it for you.
  • There is a smaller option — erasing your data but keeping the account — if that is what you actually want.

1. In the app

This is the fastest route and it is immediate. Open Meny, then:

Settings → Delete my account

The account and the data held under it are removed, and so is the sign-in identity, so the same Google account can start again from nothing later. Nothing is queued for review and nobody at our end has to approve it.

2. By email, if you cannot use the app

If you have uninstalled Meny, cannot sign in, or cannot get to the setting, write to privacy@meny.in from the email address of the Google account you signed in with, and ask us to delete your account.

We need the request to come from that address because it is the only way we can tell it is yours. We hold no phone number and no other identifier that could verify you, which is deliberate — but it does mean an email from any other address cannot be actioned.

We acknowledge within 24 hours and complete the deletion within 15 days, usually the same day. You will get a confirmation when it is done.

3. What is deleted

Everything keyed to your account, on both routes:

  • Your memory list — everything each companion remembers about you
  • Your chat threads, every message in them, and the reactions on those messages
  • Your session summaries and voice-call transcripts
  • Your profile: display name, the year of birth kept for the age check, language and city if you gave them
  • Your sign-in identity, so the account itself stops existing

We keep no audio files at any point, so there is no recording to delete. Voice is transcribed as it streams and discarded, and there is no way to record you in the app at all.

Deletion is real deletion from our live systems. Backups and server logs age out on their own cycle and are never used to repopulate anything.

4. If you want less than this

Deleting the account is the largest of three things, and people often want one of the smaller ones:

  • Forget everything (Settings → Forget everything) erases your memory list, chat threads and session summaries but keeps the account, so you can still sign in and start fresh with the same companions.
  • Forget one thing (Settings → Memory) removes a single remembered item without touching the rest.
  • Signing out is none of the above. It ends the session on that phone and leaves your data intact.

All three are described in full in the privacy policy.
